Since I write and talk a lot about food and the amazing way they protect and heal the body, It makes sense for me to walk the walk by sharing one of my personal favorite recipes. I call it the Spicy curry medley.
A small bag of frozen broccoli and cauliflower
A small bag of mixed vegetables with corn, peas and carrots
Two table spoons of curry powder
Half a table spoon of jalapeno/canyene pepper powder
Two table spoons of olive oil
Three table spoons of water
Half a teaspoon of salt
Half a teaspoon of your favorite flavor enhancer (accent or bouillon)
Pour the water and olive oil into a large skillet or frying pan and turn the heat to medium low
Add the vegetables, curry and jalapeno powders, salt and flavor enhancer
Add more water if it dries up one tablespoon at a time
Cook until broccoli stem is tender with a slight crunch but not soggy
This should take about 5-7 minutes
For added sweetness, add a pinch of sugar
Add more or less of the ingredients to suit your personal taste.
Now for the science stuff. Most of the ingredients in my favorite anti cancer meal have been researched and are known to contain compounds that fight cancer.
Broccoli and Cauliflower contain luteolin, Olive oil has an abundance of squalene, curry is filled with curcumin, Jalapenos have capsaicin and peas contain coumestrol.
